It is close to Dumaguete and about 125 kilometers from Cebu City. The island spans 24 hectares and is encircled by waters that are varied shades of aquamarine and perfectly clean. Under the direction of Siliman University Marine Reserve, it was designated as a fish sanctuary in 1974, making it the first marine protected area in the Philippines.
